My Church

Yikes!

I hope Yikes is not a curse word.  I have no clue its origin or ethnic background.

I came home last night...after being away from my home since 7:30am to find that there is no heat.  My boys are pretty tough...and I expect a repair man here this morning. Prayerfully.

The hardship in this...is I now have a cold...and I have to call out of work. I will probably go in later tonight...which will allow me to accomplish more than I would have if I was working daytime.

Church was great yesterday.  We had St. Nicholas visit us...he came to dispel the myth of Santa Claus.  It was funny and interesting...one of my Buddy's was able to borrow “Nicholas'” clergy robes for this performance.  They really were green and red..  His origin is from Turkey.  His parents died and left him a fortune and he dedicated his life to serving Christ and gave away his fortune to those in need over his lifetime.  There are several great stories.  The most influential was the story of him leaving three bags of gold as a daury (dowry?) for three young daughters of a father that was being forced to sell them into slavery.  Apparantly he tossed them through the window...into the girls shoes.  It was a very inspirational message.

Yesterday was the men's breakfast that I lead.  It was great.  The fellowship and sharing was outstanding. Best of all...I usually get severely attacked by the enemy after successful meetings.. Yesterday, I know there was a outpouring of the Spirit that protected me from this attack.  We have an enemy that hates to see us going forward...but he can be thwarted by the Spirit that lives within.  I left yesterday's breakfast fortified and refreshed and ready for any attacks that were to come.

The above might be greek if you are visiting here for the first time....but I invite you to explore what is available with a relationship with God.
